What's New? Reboot and Bonus Content

I am sorry I neglected my regular posts for a little while, but I am getting back to it and am so happy to share here that a project well over a year in development has publicly launched. I’ve been in deep-work mode in my day to day!

The founding of a new company is both terrifying and exciting at the same time. It also takes a lot of work. I’m both relieved and delighted that it all went very well, but I also have to apologize that I have failed to post here regularly.

Other fun projects have also been in the works - including finally publishing a paper my grad school officemate and I started in 2011 (never say never). He reached out a few weeks ago and reminded me that we do in fact have the manuscript nearly completed and that we should probably do something with it. It will be fun to finally publish the research and we believe it will shed more light (pun intended - microscopy joke) on how spatiotemporal dynamics of two immune cell types drive rapid antigen specific responses. When it is published I will share it here along with a breakdown of how it impacts our understanding the immune response.

Changes to LIL’ Science:

• I will be resuming the COVID posts and completing the series on Long COVID. Next up is a deep-dive on The Metabolic Impact of Long COVID to be followed shortly by a review of Immune System Dysfunction and Dysregulation post COVID infection.

• All COVID content will remain freely accessible, I believe deeply that this is important for public health.

• New paid-only content will cover more edgy science, business and start-up perspectives, as well as forward looking musings on technology and science. These articles are more inline with my day-to-day and will include a few whitepapers.

• With the addition of new content comes the decision to being changing my social media profiles to contain my real name. Hello! Nice to meet you! The only place where ‘LaughterInLight’ will be used is TikTok.

All in all, looking forward to getting back to writing. See you soon here on Substack and for shorter, more timely posts follow me on Instagram, Threads, or TikTok.
